Our History

It all started with Mr. and Mrs. Emmons in 1966.  While Mr. Emmons worked for McCall's (Norton Simon) publishing (McCall's Magazine & Redbook), Mrs. Emmons began working as an independent 'clearing house' for periodical saleswomen across the Midwest. After the initial business venture became increasingly stable, Mr. Emmons changed focus to the business himself, where they would then move everything down to sunny Florida in 1976.

In 1978, their second son and current owner, Richard O. Emmons, became involved in the business. Richard brought with him a degree in Marketing & Advertising from Northern Illinois University, and immediately sought innovative changes for MSSA as the previous way of doing business was gradually losing favor. Richard began increasing sales for MSSA through the use of calling on trade professionals and participating in trade shows, where he would utilize his skill as a salesmen to bring in a wide range of new patrons.

The success and exponential growth of the company would continue as Richard moved MSSA into the office that we currently use to this day back in 2003. It allowed for the acquisition of further offices in the same building as the number of employees and work-related materials grew over-time.

Over time, MSSA began to acquire a unique team that would further boost the capabilities and overall growth of the company. Although faces have changed throughout the years, the same standard for exceptional customer service and operational procedure has remained.
